The number of homes sold in Louisville rose to its highest level in five years

Louisville-area home sales pick up in February

The number of homes sold last month by members of the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors rose to the highest level in five years, the organization reported Monday.

The number of homes sold in the Louisville metropolitan statistical area rose 4.9 percent from February 2012, to 810 homes.

The median sale price for homes in the MSA was $129,900, which was down 1.59 percent from a year earlier. The average selling price was $159,598, which represented a 1.83 percent increase from the previous February.
