Great News! Louisville home prices rise slightly in December from year earlier

 

According to Kevin Eigelbach of Louisville’s Business First:

Home prices in Louisville rose by 0.2 percent in December 2012 from a year earlier, according to the home price index created by Santa Ana, Calif.-basedCoreLogic Inc. (NYSE: CLGX), a provider of business information and statistics.

Home prices decreased by 0.2 percent from November to December 2012, according to CoreLogic.

Louisville made the list of Top 10 Healthiest Housing Markets!

 

Another Top 10 List for Louisville!
And another sign that the Louisville, Kentucky real estate market is recovering and growing.

“The healthy markets that made his list have strong labor growth (Bureau of Labor Statistics), which bodes well for housing demand; low vacancy rates (U.S. Postal Service) — low enough to encourage new construction, but not so low that inventory and sales are restrained; and low foreclosure inventory (RealtyTrac), since foreclosures tend to hold back recovery.”

2012 was a great year for Louisville, Kentucky.  We were named the “Most Livable City in America” and one of the “Best Places to Retire”.

Louisville Real Estate Market is Heating Up!

According to an article in the Business First …

“Sale prices for homes in the Louisville area also have started to rise again. In October, they were 1.7 percent higher than in October a year ago, according to Santa Ana, Calif.-based CoreLogic, a provider of business information and analysis.

Also in October, home sales increased 29 percent from the same month a year earlier, according to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors. Year-to-date sales were up 16 percent from 2011. The median price for October sales was $139,000, up $9,000 from October 2011.”

That is great news for Louisville and makes this the perfect time for you to buy or sell your home.
